Paediatricians at CJG The Hague advise parents to continue attending the family health clinic for the vaccinations. That specifically applies to children up to 14 months inclusive.
Parents are cancelling their appointments for fear of infection with coronavirus. However, that is not necessary, say the paediatricians. Appointments are spread out, so that the waiting rooms are very quiet and people keep their distance from each other.
Vaccination is important
“These vaccinations are extremely important. This is the only way we can prevent outbreaks of illnesses like measles and whooping cough,” says Deputy Mayor Kavita Parbhudayal (Care, Youth and Public Health). On Wednesday morning, she visited the CJG in Escamp. There Kavita Parbhudayal spoke to paediatricians and children’s nurses about the vaccinations of young children.
Building up immunity
Vaccinating young children continues to be very important. The advice is to only cancel your appointment if you (or your child) are ill or have symptoms like a runny nose, cough, sore throat or fever.
